Your Body Isn't
Broken.
Your Bloodwork Is.

The 4 bloodwork panels your doctor probably isn't running — and why they're the real reason you can't lose weight, feel exhausted, and nothing seems to work.

First, Let's Be Honest With You

You're not lazy. You're not weak. You've probably tried eating better, working out more, cutting carbs, cutting calories — and the scale still isn't moving.

Here's what nobody told you: most standard bloodwork doesn't test the markers that actually affect fat loss, energy, and hormones in women over 30. Your doctor says "everything looks normal" — but normal isn't the same as optimal.

This guide breaks down the exact 4 panels we look at with every single client, in plain English, so you finally understand what's actually going on inside your body.

The 4 Panels That Change Everything

Most doctors only run basic panels. We go deeper — because the answers are in the details.

Complete Metabolic Panel

"How is your body processing fuel?"

🍬Glucose
Think of this like checking how much sugar is floating around in your blood. Too much means your body isn't handling carbs well — and that makes fat loss really hard.
🫘Kidney Function
Your kidneys filter out waste. If they're under stress, your body holds onto water and inflammation stays high — both make the scale stick.
🧪Liver Enzymes
Your liver processes everything you eat and every hormone in your body. When it's sluggish, hormones get backed up and fat storage increases.
⚖️Electrolytes
Sodium, potassium, magnesium. These control your energy levels, muscle function, and how well you sleep. Most women are low without knowing it.
🧠

Thyroid Panel

"Is your metabolism running on full speed or slow mode?"

📡TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone)
This is your brain telling your thyroid how hard to work. Most doctors only run this one — but it's just the signal, not the whole story.
🔋T4 (Thyroxine)
This is the main hormone your thyroid makes. Think of it like the raw material your body needs to power your metabolism. Low T4 = slow everything.
🔄T3 Uptake
T4 has to convert into T3 to actually work. This test shows if that conversion is happening properly. Many women have "normal" T4 but can't convert it — and feel exhausted as a result.

Hormone Panel

"Are your hormones working with you or against you?"

💪Total & Free Testosterone
Yes, women need testosterone too! Low levels cause low energy, low motivation, difficulty building muscle, and stubborn belly fat.
🌸Estradiol
The main form of estrogen. In perimenopause and menopause, this drops and causes fat to shift to your midsection, disrupts sleep, and wrecks your mood.
📊LH & FSH
These hormones from your brain signal your ovaries to work. Their ratio tells us exactly where you are in your hormonal journey — critical for women 30 to 60.
🍼Prolactin
Known as the "nursing hormone" but it's always present. When elevated, it suppresses other hormones, causes weight gain, and kills libido — even when you're not pregnant.
🌙Progesterone
The calming hormone. When it's low (very common after 35), you get poor sleep, anxiety, bloating, and your body holds onto fat because it thinks it's under constant stress.

Stress Response

"Is stress physically blocking your results?"

🌅Morning Cortisol (7–9 AM)
Cortisol is your stress hormone — and it's supposed to be highest in the morning to wake you up. But chronic stress flips this pattern. When cortisol is off, your body literally holds onto belly fat as a survival mechanism. No amount of diet or exercise fixes this without addressing the root cause.

⚠️ Why this matters so much for you:

Most women trying to lose weight are in chronic high-cortisol states from work stress, poor sleep, and under-eating. Exercising harder makes it worse. This is why you feel like you're doing everything right and getting nowhere.

What "Normal" Really Means

When your doctor says your bloodwork is "normal," they mean it falls somewhere inside a very wide range — built from average, often unhealthy people.

Normal is not the same as optimal. A woman with TSH at the top of the normal range may still be struggling with fatigue, weight gain, and hair loss. A woman with estradiol at the bottom of normal may still be experiencing hot flashes and midsection fat gain.

We don't chase normal. We chase optimal — the ranges where women actually feel and look their best.

Does Any of This Sound Like You?

These are the most common symptoms we see in women before we review their labs.

😴
Exhausted All Day
No matter how much you sleep, you wake up tired. Thyroid and cortisol are usually involved.
⚖️
Scale Won't Move
Eating less, moving more — nothing works. This is almost always a hormone or metabolic issue.
🔥
Stubborn Belly Fat
Especially after 35. Usually cortisol, estrogen, or insulin resistance — sometimes all three.
🌊
Bloating & Inflammation
Feeling puffy or swollen even when you haven't eaten much. Liver enzymes and gut markers matter here.
🧠
Brain Fog
Forgetting things, can't focus, mental fatigue. Thyroid and low progesterone are common culprits.
😤
Mood Swings
Irritable, anxious, emotional for no clear reason. Usually tied to progesterone, estrogen, or cortisol drops.
